Children and Youth Sunday School

Aldersgate United Methodist Church has Sunday School classes for children and youth starting at age 2 (by September 1st). A nursery is provided from 8:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Sundays for children under 2. 


9:30 Sunday School Classes

2-Year Olds: Children who attend this class enjoy stories, songs, and crafts in a nurturing environment. This class meets in room 2.

3-Year Olds:
The 3-year olds learn about God's love through story, song, games, and crafts. This class meets in room 4.

4-Year Olds/Pre-K:
Come join Noah the Bear and learn about God's love with "Grandma Mary". This class meets in room 1.

Kindergarten through 5th Grade:
Gather first in Fellowship Hall or the Great Room for Cross Training (see below). Each week groups of kids will rotate through 5 stations, each exploring a different aspect of the theme story: Art, Science, Movies, Games, and Drama.

6th through 8th Grade (Mid-High):
Join this lively class as they start to test their faith and examine their relationship with God. They meet in room 17.

9th through 12th Grade (Sr. High):
Be a part of a class that looks at their relationship with God and the pressures of the world around them. They meet in room 16.


11:00 Sunday School Classes

2-Year Olds through Pre-K: Care is available in the nursery.

Sunday Care (4-Year Olds through 2nd Grade):
Meet in room 6 for stories, songs, and crafts.

Friends of Jesus (Grades 1 through 5):
Every 3rd Sunday, after children's time, this group will meet and make caring crafts for featured shut-ins, military personnel and prison inmates.

Cross Training

Cross Training is for all children ages Kindergarten through 5th grade during the 9:30 a.m. hour. K-3rd graders meet in the "Clubhouse", which is located in the east side of the Great Room, and 4th-5th graders meet in Fellowship Hall for Club 45. The opening time is to sing songs, recognize birthdays, and take an offering. They then go to one rotation station each week that focuses on the theme. Stations include art, cooking, science, computers, games, and movies. Come join the fun!
