Volunteer Opportunities

Do you love to volunteer at Aldersgate? Do you want to be part of the worship service, but don't like being in front of people? Here is the perfect opportunity for you to lend a hand. We are in need of volunteers to run sound for Sunday services and special events at the church. You can commit to as much or as little time as will fit your schedule, and some special events will pay you for your time. If you are interested, please stop by the sound booth after a service or contact Pastor Kim. Training will be provided.

We need volunteer groups/committees to provide future meals. A sign-up sheet is at the welcome booth.

We need volunteers to sign up for a month at a time to staff the Welcome Booth on Sunday mornings. There will be training on what to do. Contact the church office for more information.

Do you have a special holiday, birthday, anniversary, or memorial day that you would like to recognize a loved one? Consider providing flowers for the altar in honor of your special person or occasion. Sign up on the sheet in the entryway, then simply bring the flowers to the church on the Friday or Saturday before.

Did you know that each new baby born to a member of the congregation receives a baby blanket from the church? Please contact Peggy Moore if you can help us provide blankets for our newest members. Peggy has yarn to share if you need some. We also make blankets by tying them, so even if you don't sew, you can still help!

Do you like working with Elementary-age children? Then maybe you would enjoy volunteering to help with Cross Training - our elementary Sunday School program. You can volunteer for 6 weeks as a Coach (Teacher) or a Personal Trainer (helper). Sign-up sheets are located on the bulletin board outside Cynthia's office. Each unit lasts 6 weeks as we focus on a Bible story. If you have experienced Aldersgate to be a warm, welcoming place, and want to help it stay that way, please consider volunteering to be a Greeter, Welcome Booth Host/Hostess, or First-Time Guest Visitor.

We need at least 25 greeters, 3 welcome booth hosts/hostesses, and 1 guest visitor each Sunday. We would also like to have a pool of volunteers to call upon for special events during the week.

Contact Norma Stafford if you are interested in Greeting, Carmena Dunagan to help at the Welcome Booth, Gloria Travaille to visit our first-time guests, or Pastor Kim for any of these opportunities. Thank you for sharing your gifts and welcoming others to Aldersgate with the love of Christ!

Do you need a ride to church, or are you willing to offer one? Several people have indicated that they need help getting to church. If you are interested in helping, or if you need a ride yourself, please call the church Friday mornings and speak to Sondra.
