Feed Kids 5K & Kids Run

This program provides food for school age children to eat over the weekend. A number of families rely on school meal programs to nourish their young ones during the week, but many do not get sufficient food outside of school. So, each Friday during the school year the Food 4 Kids program steps in, sending thousands of kids home with Ziploc bags of packaged food. The cost to fill one bag is $4.50.
Runners and walkers gather at Sedgwick County Park on a Saturday in August. There is a nominal entry fee, with all proceeds going to the Kansas Food Bank Backpacks for Kids program. Each runner provides for 3 bags of food for kids. Information about the next race is available below.
Because the most essential school supply is food!
Look for information about our 2018 Feed Kids 5K, to be held next August. Our goal is to secure enough sponsorships so that 98% of each registration fee goes to the Food 4 Kids program, filling about 7.5 bags of food per adult racer and 3 bags of food per child racer.
Our 6th annual Feed Kids 5K & Kids Run was held August 5, 2017, at Sedgwick County Park. There were over 160 racers, and we raised over $5500 for the Kansas Food Bank. Race results are at itsyourrace.com. Pictures are on the Feed Kids 5K & Kids Run Facebook page.
