The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with over 2.4 million youth members in its age-related divisions. Since its founding in 1910 as part of the international scouting movement, more than 110 million Americans have been members of the BSA.

Duty to God is a cornerstone of the scouting program. In the U.S., over 70% of all Scouting units are chartered to faith-based organizations. The United Methodist Church is one of the top faith-based organizations that provide scouting ministries to youth. There are three scouting units chartered to Aldersgate UMC: a Cub Scout pack, a Scouts BSA troop, and a Venturing Crew.

Each Scouting unit is managed by a group of adults approved by the chartered organization who serve as the unit committee. The Chartered Organization Representative (COR) maintains a close relationship with the unit committee chairman. Coordination between the chartering organization and its Scouting program is through the COR. Our units partner with Aldersgate UMC to deliver the promise of Scouting.
Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts is a family program designed for boys and girls who are in the 1st grade through 5th grade. Boys and girls can enjoy safe, wholesome activities focused on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service. The Cub Scouts meet at Aldersgate on Monday evenings at 7 p.m.
Scouts BSA
Scouts BSA is the flagship program of the BSA for boys and girls ages 11–18. It uses outdoor activities such as camping, aquatics, and hiking to achieve the aims of character, citizenship, and personal fitness training. This troop meets at Aldersgate on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m.
Venturing
Venturing is a program for young men and women ages 14–21. Its purpose is to provide positive experiences to help youth mature, and to prepare them to become responsible adults. Crew 737 meets at Aldersgate on Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m.
