The recipients will be notified by May 1. The awards are sent directly to the institution upon enrollment, with half to be paid for first semester and half to be paid for second semester. An Aldersgate Seminary Scholarship is also available for beginning seminary students from Aldersgate. (See below for the scholarship criteria.) Donations to this fund are encouraged as a way to support our members as they begin their path to ministry. The funds will be used in full each semester that there is an Aldersgate member attending a seminary. Funds will be distributed as available directly to the learning institution. The application for the Seminary Scholarship for the 2017-2018 academic year is available at the Welcome Center, in the office, or by following the link provided.
Scholarship award recipients will be chosen by the Aldersgate Scholarship Committee. Applicants to the Sutcliffe Scholarship will also automatically be considered for the Aldersgate Endowment Scholarship(s). All decisions are final. Please contact Denise Wilson with any questions.
There are also camping scholarships available through the Kay Whitcomb fund. Contact Cynthia Rios, Steve James, or Denise Wilson.
The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church has additional information about other scholarship and loan opportunities.
If there are other individuals or families interested in establishing a scholarship at Aldersgate, please contact the church or the chair of the Endowment or Scholarship committee. This is a wonderful way to give to the youth of Aldersgate as they pursue their higher education.
